- The “statutory declaration of impasse date” changes from June 1 to July 31 of each year.
- The date for notices to negotiate new items or to amend an existing contract changes from February 1 to March 31
- The number of mandatory topics that each side can notice for negotiation each year will be limited to “salary and wages” plus no more than five (5) additional topics from K.S.A. 72-5413(l)(1).
- Adds a requirement that the members of each bargaining team complete negotiations training each year. The content of the training to be required will be determined by each side for their own negotiators.
